Informing, explaining, convincing – professional communication management has become a strategic success factor for organizations and companies in times of digitalization, sustainability and diversity. The course deals with the establishment and development of clear, attractive images of a company or organisation and its services. The goal of these images is to facilitate positive behaviour and attitudes of internal and external reference groups towards the company.

Learning goals

After completing the course, participants will be familiar with the tasks, goals and instruments of communication management. They will understand the importance of systematic design communication as a management process and will become familiar with the special requirements for communicating in the context of different reference groups such as employees. They will understand unique features of varying aspects of practical application, using crisis communication as an example, and will have mastered effective techniques such as storytelling, text communication and image communication. They will also be able to resolve disruptions in communication through the targeted use of applied techniques.

Dates

November 21 – 23, 2024 and November 28 – 30, 2024 (virtual classroom sessions). The sessions start on Thursday at 13:00 (CET) and end at 17:00 (CET), on Friday and Saturday at 09:00 (CET) until 17:00 (CET).

LECTURER

Prof. Dr. D. Georg Adlmaier-Herbst is an experienced practitioner who has worked for 15 years in the human resource department of the executive board of a global corporation. He has been a consultant, mentor and speaker for companies, organisations and individuals at home and abroad, for 18 years.
Since the 1990s, he has been instrumental in shaping numerous processes in industrial companies and scientific institutions. Prof. Dr. Adlmaier-Herbst is currently Honorary Professor and Scientific Director of the research unit Berlin Management Model for Digitalisation (BMM) at the Berlin Career College of the Berlin University of the Arts, where he is also a lecturer in the part-time Master's program ’Leadership in Digital Innovation’. At the University of St. Gallen, he is also responsible for modules in the Executive Master of Business Engineering, lecturer for ’Leadership for the Digital Transformation’ in the certificate course ’Digital Innovation and Business Transformation’ and main lecturer in the certificate course ’HSG Management for IT Leaders 2020’. At Technische Universität Berlin, he teaches Leadership and Strategy and Change Management in the Master's program in Science Management/Science Marketing.
